Do we need a biometric machine or any hardware?
No. The employee's own Android phone or iPhone is the attendance device. A selfie with GPS is stronger proof than a thumb machine at one gate, because it works at every client site too.
Is there a free employee attendance app?
Yes. GeoWave is free for up to 5 people, with no card and no end date: selfie and GPS check-in, leave, shifts, the live team map and tasks. Bigger teams pay ₹299 per user per month.
Can labour and site workers use it?
Yes. It works as an attendance app for workers at factories, construction sites, shops and warehouses. Each worker checks in from their own phone, and a geofence can make sure they are at the site when they do.
Can someone check in for a colleague?
Every check-in needs a live selfie and records where it was taken. Turn on face check and the selfie is matched to the employee's enrolled face (with their consent), so only the right person can mark attendance.
Will it drain the phone battery?
No. Location is recorded every 3 minutes and only while the employee is checked in. It is tuned for the battery savers on Xiaomi, Vivo and other Android phones common in India.
